Though it was a nippy 10 degrees upon their arrival in Cusco this morning, our 16 weary travellers were greeted with warmth and honour by a delegation of youth from the school in Velille bearing flags and gifts.
Each team member was presented with a woven hat, like the one worn here by Ted, one of our mission team members.
In the picture below, Pastor Yeison of Velille welcomes the team.
Szasza and Tino have their picture taken with Harley, below middle, who is wearing a Canadian shirt, gifted from the team. (Harley is an Adventist from Cusco who organized the team’s excursions.)
Here are Harley and Pastor Yeison sporting gifts from Tony, one of our team members:
Today our mission crew will spend the day in Cusco to help acclimate their bodies to the elevation (3,399 m) before completing the final 5-hour car journey tomorrow, to their work site in Velille (3,730 m). At present they are heading to a band performance at a local school.
