ABOUT KIDZONE

In a world where anything goes, it’s hard to find good, wholesome activities to get your children involved in. We hope to change that!

Here at Kidzone we want to engage your kids with fun, interactive activities that leave them wanting more. More of what, you say?

We want to teach your children to share, to be patient, to be loving, and so much more, with principles found in the Bible. And what better way to do that than with a variety of crafts, games, and snacks!

See you at Kidzone!

FAQs

What does Kidzone cost?

The program is available free of charge!

What ages is it for?

Kidzone is designed for children aged 3 to 10. Your child must be toilet-trained and capable of using the bathroom without assistance.

When is it held?

Kidzone is held most Saturdays of the school year. Typically it does not happen on the first Saturday of each month, but the schedule varies from time-to-time, so please check the schedule on this page regularly.

The start time is 11:30 am and the program typically wraps up around 12:30 pm.

Do I need to pre-register?

Pre-registration is not required, however at the first session that your child attends, you will be required to complete and submit a registration form. You can download and print one in advance, or fill one out at our registration table upon arrival.

Does my child need to attend every session?

Attendance is on a drop-in basis. We hope your child will have so much fun that they will want to come back every week! However if you can’t make it on certain weeks, you do not need to let us know in advance.

Where is the program held?

All the fun happens at Harmony Baptist Church, 1763 Upper James Street, right across from ‘The Egg and I’ restaurant. See our contact page for a map and directions. (Our church rents Harmony Baptist’s facilities on Saturday mornings for our weekly worship services.)

Do I have to be a member of your church for my child to attend?

Definitely not. While most of our members’ children do attend Kidzone, our desire is for this program to be a community event that all are welcome to attend, much like a Vacation Bible Camp. Only this program spreads the fun out year-round!

Can I drop my child off and come back, or do I need to stay?

You are most welcome to stay and enjoy the adult service in the main worship centre if you wish, however you are not obligated to stay and can leave your child with us until pick up time.

What should my child wear?

Your child can wear anything that he or she is comfortable in for active play. You will notice in our slideshow that several children are dressed up. In most cases this is because their family chooses to do so for church attendance, however most of our volunteers dress comfortably and your child will fit right in if he or she does the same.

How will I know my child is safe?

We take great precaution with your child’s safety and this is why all of our volunteers 18 years and older must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check.

You mention snacks. What if my child has allergies?

We are a peanut-free program and will try our best to adapt to other dietary restrictions, once indicated.

Where do I go when I arrive?

Parking spots in front of Harmony Baptist Church may be full when you arrive, however, if you are simply dropping your child off, please feel welcome to double-park temporarily so that you may use the front entrance. Otherwise, there is additional parking at the rear (east entrance) of the building.

Once inside there will be ushers/signage to direct you.
