Cooking School

Next Session: November 2019

Learn to make healthy, plant-based meals in this interactive cooking school!

(All recipes are free of meat and dairy, but do contain gluten and nuts.)

What's involved?

A wholistic nutritionist will offer a short talk at the beginning of each class.

Each participant will then have the opportunity to prepare the evening’s dish(es) at their individual stations, simultaneously with the cooking demonstration. Onsite volunteers will be available to assist as needed.

The following food groups will be featured:

Feb 26: Breakfast recipes
Mar 5: Main entrées
Mar 12: Soup and desserts

Do I need to attend all three sessions?

Yes, the $40 registration fee is for the full package. We recommend that you do attend all sessions to experience the full benefit. Sorry — discounts or refunds cannot be provided for missed sessions.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

Bring a pen with you for taking notes. All ingredients will be provided, along with a binder containing the demonstrated recipes.

What is the class size?

In order to facilitate the hands-on experience for everyone, the class will be limited to six participants, plus demonstrators and volunteers.

Option 2: CASH 

If you cannot facilitate online payment you may pay by cash in person at our office located at Unit 5, 120 Lancing Drive in Hamilton during office hours (M-Th: 8:30-2:30; F: 8:30-noon). Please call 905-575-1100 as soon as possible after registering to indicate when you plan to come in and pay; if payment is not received within a reasonable time, your registration may be bumped.

Our Nutritionist

Melanie Floyd is a Certified Holistic Nutritionist (CHN) who practices in the greater Hamilton region and at the Hamilton Health and Wellness Centre.

With her degree in Biology and her past career in cytotechnology (studying of cells) she has come to find a joy in helping others with their overall health and sharing about cellular and tissue maintenance.

Melanie loves to educate others on what makes the body thrive in a wholistic fashion. Through a short presentation at the beginning of each session, she will share with participants the benefits of a vegan lifestyle and how to obtain adequate nutrition.
