Six enthusiastic Hamilton-area vegan cooks in-the-making are enjoying learning how easy and beneficial plant-based cooking can be. Green Cuisine Cooking School began it’s second run on September 12, 2017.

Taking place in the community room of the Mall Road Fortinos, this interactive three-night training session limits the number of participants to an intimate size to ensure everyone gets a truly hands-on experience.

The camaraderie we experience is great. Everyone has a really good time together while gaining some very practical skills and knowledge that they can put to use in their everyday life.

Szasza Paz   – Cooking School Coordinator

Not only do students learn how to prepare delicious and healthy menu items, they also benefit from nutritional tips and advice from a certified holistic nutritionist. Each night of the series focuses on a different meal/menu: breakfast is covered the first evening, entrées the second, and soup and desserts are prepared on the third and final night. The end of each evening is the best part — students and volunteers dig in and enjoy the fruits of their labour by sampling the finished products.

After a well-received first run this past February, the cooking school coordinator and volunteers agreed that the program was very much worth running again. And if you’re sad that you missed out, fear not! Plans are already in place for another session in February 2018.
