Father’s Day, June 19, saw our first ever Free Oil Change for Single Moms take place at Grandview Adventist Academy.
Ten single mothers from the community came out to experience some TLC for their cars as their oil was changed, basic mechanical systems were checked, and their cars were washed and detailed by volunteers.
It was a great day with lots of camaraderie between the volunteers and a very smooth-running system.
We are so grateful for the many volunteers who sacrificed their afternoon to brighten someone else’s day, as well as the many businesses who donated supplies to make the event happen. Each business was presented with a plaque from our church, containing a picture of the event and expressing our gratitude.
