Bags of Hope

By Serving Hands

Our BAGS OF HOPE program is now closed.

We are working on a remodel of this service in order to better meet the needs of the community.

Thank you for your interest and please check back soon.

Bags of Hope is a COVID-19 response from Serving Hands, a ministry of Really Living Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Through these difficult and uncertain times, we want to help members of our community who are in need by providing some basic grocery items.

Through a partnership with ADRA Canada, households in need may apply for a free bag of groceries, for pick up from our facility or delivery to their home.

Subject to availability, each grocery bag will contain:

  • A carton of 2% milk (2L)
  • A dozen eggs
  • 2 loaves of bread
  • Some potatoes
  • 2 boxes of pasta
  • 2 cans of soup
  • All who are in need are eligible to apply. Please be courteous and mindful that many are without income and resources during this time; if you can manage without this assistance we ask that you refrain from applying.
  • In order to help as many as possible we are limiting applications to one per household. (Did you receive a bag from us in 2020? You may re-apply now.)

We will endeavour to have your bag ready for pick-up or delivery within one week of your application.

Our volunteers will take all precautions prescribed by provincial and federal authorities when shopping for and packaging your items.

Please familiarize yourself with recommended precautions for handling groceries once inside your home.

For Pick Up:

Anyone who is able to drive to our facility for pick up at a pre-arranged time may apply.

For Delivery:

If applying for delivery, your home address must be in a Hamilton community east of Highway 403, as designated in the highlighted portion of the map below.

We would love to have you join us as we serve our city together!

Contact project coordinator, Benton Lowe, to find out how you can get involved: 905.308.4088 | benton@reallyliving.ca

This is a great opportunity for youth to get their community service hours and for families to work together to serve our city.

How to Apply

We will contact you by phone or email to arrange a mutually agreeable pick-up or delivery date and time.

Funding is limited. Should we reach our maximum service level before this form is disabled, we will contact you to inform you that you have been placed on a waiting list for further availability of resources.
