Some gallant gents and a few like-minded ladies spent a rainy Sunday providing a free oil change to 13 single moms in Hamilton.
October 30, 2016 marked our second edition of this new program entitled “Free Oil Change for Single Moms.” After the success of our first oil change in the spring, available spots filled up quickly for October, with many new faces and some returning.
In addition to the oil change, a basic mechanical check was provided and the cars received a detailing service. A planned car wash was cancelled due to the rain and cold weather.
All recipients expressed gratitude to the sponsors and volunteers for the boost the free service provided them.
One thank you message from Laural B, a single mom whose car was serviced, stated: “I’m writing to thank everyone who participated in today’s oil change and car wash for Moms! Rolling home in a shiny clean fresh smelling vehicle shown a little love made my day ? Thanks to you ” toonie” is running healthy and happy!!!”
