On Saturday, September 7, 2019, the Really Living Centre celebrated it’s official grand opening complete with ribbon cutting, facility tours, an inspiring dedication worship service, and a celebration luncheon.
This 25,000 square-foot facility has been built with the dual purpose of providing a worship space for the congregation of Really Living Seventh-day Adventist Church, as well as facilitating a community space for events and activities open to members of the public. Innovative programs such as a free oil change for single parents, active living boot camp, plant-based cooking school, drop-in sports nights with indoor rock-climbing, seniors exercise program, and more, are soon to be offered through the auspices of this new facility.
Honoured guests participating and in attendance included Mansfield Edwards, President of the Ontario Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, Mark Johnson, President of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Canada, Dan Linrud, founding pastor of the church who is now President of the Oregon Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, as well as current pastors, Francis Douville and Benton Lowe, and former pastor Juan Fresse.
The estimated 600 individuals in attendance included current and former members, their family members and friends, interested members of the public, and various construction partners.
“We are so excited and humbled to have this beautiful venue under our care,” says Francis Douville, Lead Pastor at Really Living. “We don’t see this as a building just for us, but for the whole city of Hamilton and beyond. Our hope is that many will experience what it’s like to really live as they take part in the activities and events offered within.”
