BLESSING OTHERS THROUGH OUR FINANCES

Why We Give

Stewardship of the finances God has blessed us with is not only a test of our trust in God as ultimate provider, it also helps us be a part of something bigger and grander than we could ever accomplish on our own.

``Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,`` says the LORD Almighty, `` and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.``

Two Ways to Give

1. Cash or Cheque

Please make your cheque payable to Really Living Seventh-day Adventist Church. Cheques and cash may be dropped off in the offering box at the back of the worship centre or you may mail a cheque to our church office.

Along with your donation, please indicate your name and address so that we may issue you a charitable tax receipt at the end of the year. Also, please indicate what your donation is for (e.g., tithe, church budget, etc.).

2. Credit Card (Adventist Giving Online)

Adventist Giving Online is a service offered by the global Seventh-day Adventist Church. Credit card transaction fees are not passed on to the local church so you receive credit for 100% of your donation.

A one-time registration is required in order to give online. For subsequent donations you will simply need to provide your email and password. (At this time, a recurrent giving option is not available.)

Adventist Giving Online FAQs

Yes. 100% of the funds are routed through the local church.

In Canada, only credit cards with the Visa® and MasterCard® logos can be used at this time.

As privacy and security are top priorities in this program, state-of-the-art security measures are in place. For more information, read the Adventist Giving Online Privacy Policy.

Your password, login and state-of-the-art security measures protect your privacy online. Only your church treasurer will have knowledge of your giving, as is the case with regular cash and cheque contributions.

AdventistGiving has more than 900 offering categories from which to select, and you will likely find the category you want. However, if you do not see an offering category listed, you can still give cash or a check at your local church. You may also contact your local treasurer if you wish to request a category be added to AdventistGiving.

The funds are sent to the church checking account electronically on a monthly cycle.

After a successful transaction, AdventistGiving generates a confirmation for your records. Official tax receipts will be issued by your local church at the end of the year.

If you have made a duplicate donation or the amount you have given is in error, please contact help@adventistgiving.ca for a refund. In some cases AdventistGiving may need to wait to verify that your payment was successful before issuing a refund. If your donation has already been transferred to your church, you will need to speak directly with your church treasurer.

WHAT IS TITHE?

Tithe is a tenth portion (10%) of your income that God claims as His (Lev. 27:30). In the Seventh-day Adventist Church, contributions designated as tithe are pooled to support the gospel ministry of the world church.

CHURCH BUDGET: Your Gift to Really Living

Your contribution to the church budget is what covers the day-to-day expenses and ministries of Really Living, including our associate pastor's and administrative assistant's salaries, church office expenses, Harmony Baptist rent, constituent fees to GAA, and all local ministry and outreach expenses. We count on your faithful giving to help us meet our obligations and fulfill our vision.

WHAT IS OFFERING?

Because tithe is reserved for a special purpose, freewill offerings provide the funding for many other necessary functions including expenses of the local church. Offerings are a gift above and beyond tithe. The giving percentage is left to the individual, but a personal giving plan (PGP) provided by the worldwide church and used by many suggests 3-5% of income be donated to the local church budget, 1-3% to the world church, and 1-2% to the local conference.
