FAQs

We strongly recommend that you make yourself available to attend all sessions in order to enjoy the maximum benefit. However, we understand that schedules are not always flexible and that emergencies do occur.

If, after registering, you are unable to continue with the program we ask that you let us know so that we can fill your spot with names on our waiting list. We reserve the right to revoke your registration if you fail to attend two or more successive sessions without notifying us in advance.

The one-hour workout sessions, led by certified personal trainer, Marta Fowler, will start with a warm-up, then proceed into a combination of resistance and cardio-respiratory training, and finish with a cool-down.

Marta aims to make the program fun, friendly, and non-intimidating. If you are unable to keep up with the suggested exercises, she will endeavour to offer a modified option, or you may choose to rest until you are able to continue.

The two-hour hikes will be a relaxed time of benefiting from fresh air, moderate exercise, great company, and beautiful nature. Each hike will follow an approximate 5-km route. Registration is not required for participation in the hikes alone. All are welcome to join. Bring your dog, bring your kids, invite your friends, and have a good time!

This program welcomes adults of all skill and fitness levels. Our personal trainer will offer modified exercise options for those who need it.

HOWEVER, all participants will be required to complete an activity readiness questionaire and waiver of liability before participating. If you have health issues that might be worsened by physical activity, you will be required to obtain a physician’s writtern permission before participating.

For the workout sessions:

  • a water bottle
  • a set of one to five pound dumbells
  • comfortable clothes
  • non-marking shoes

For the hikes:

  • a water bottle
  • comfortable, weather-appropriate clothes & shoes

Our church values a holistic approach to health, with a great emphasis on active living. We also value our community and eagerly seek opportunities to help improve the lives of our friends and neighbours in meaningful ways. This program is simply about exercising together — building stronger bodies and happier lives. We hope you’ll join us!.
